Your TA Playlist game for February 2020 is... Gears of War 3

By The TA Playlist Team,
As the month of drinking against the Devil ends, a new game for the TA Playlist must be announced. In one of the closest votes we’ve seen (there was only 9 votes difference), Dom and Marcus represent our chosen bromance for next month. The TA Playlist game for February, with 26.48% of the vote, is Gears of War 3.

gears of war 3

Gears of War 3 is set eighteen months after the fall of the last human city – the war against the Locust rages on. Meanwhile, deep beneath the surface, a fearsome new threat is infecting the planet from within. With survivors scattered and civilization in ruins, time is running out for Marcus and his comrades as they fight to save the human race. Can you save it?

Gears 3 is the first Gears game to win the Playlist, with Gears of War 4 being the only other Gears game to even be nominated as an option. With over 288,000 players currently tracking it, and an average score of 4.44 out of 5.00 here on TA, it’s fair to say it’s a well loved game. However the Gears of War 3 achievements list certainly is quite a grind for all of you completionists, with an estimated completion of well over 200 hours. Specifically, the infamous Seriously 3.0 will certainly pose a challenge to many.

For anyone who is yet to own a copy of Gears of War 3, it is currently available on Xbox Game Pass. If you're worried about finding a squad for those multiplayer achievements, make sure to check out the current Gears of War 3 play sessions hosted on site. Plenty of like-minded hunters will be hosting play sessions.

Here are the full results of the poll:

Gears of War 3: 462 votes
Mass Effect 2: 453 votes
A Way Out: 440 votes
Saints Row: The Third: 390 votes

We’re looking forward to playing Gears of War 3 along with you and hearing your thoughts in the Playlist forums, starting on February 1st.

The TA Playlist is a monthly community event. Everyone votes on which of four games to play, and then we all play through it in the following month. There's a dedicated hub to discuss everything about the game, from story beats to gameplay tips – and of course, you can track your achievement progress during the month as well. TA Playlist was created by Mark Delaney and is now run by Miles, Nici and Chewie.
